You are in a small room with a one-way glass window. Through it, you can see another human being in a separate room. You know nothing about this person other than they appear to be a normal, healthy adult. Due to the nature of the mirrored glass they cannot see or identify you in any way. In front of you are two buttons. One button kills the person you can see, instantly, in a pain-free manner. The second button subjects the person to an unspeakably awful emotional and physical torment, the nature of which you have been made aware previously. This experience will leave them alive, but potentially with permanent physical and emotional effects. Either way, you have to watch. Whichever you choose, there will be no legal consequences, and you will be free to go about your life unhindered. You must press one button or the other, no getting out of it. How bad would the torture option have to be for you to press the instant kill button, if you would at all? Does degree of physical disability subsequent to the ordeal make a difference to your choice? How does your choice change when the buttons are wired up to perform the described actions to yourself? anonybot, posting in anonymous_qs @ :
I currently have this, in the smallest size, in my possession. I know that you're supposed to use some form of protection on these things, particularly if you're switching between anal and vaginal use with it. My question is... what would I use? The obvious answer would seem to be a condom but... do they even make them this small? This got me wondering... Do you think by being exposed to such people increases one's level of tolerance for stupidity, irritable people, etc., in the real world or that frequent Internet users (of sound minds) are more likely to get fed up with it quicker, because of having had to deal with it more? Obviously since generalizations aren't the best way to go and not what I'm trying to get at, answers from your own perspective or what you think the trend is will do just fine. genesayssitdown, posting in b0st0n @ : HEY MBTA DRUNKIES nextdrinksonme, posting in ask_me_anything @ : Meeting people online safety. In meeting someone from the internet, do you follow any safety rules? You know, meet in public places, stay in a hotel and not their home, etc. Do the rules change for you if it's an online SO? Does it matter if you're a guy or a girl? ( Read more... ) Current Mood: melodysimone, posting in b0st0n @ : Help? I'm a student at Boston University and in my Account Planning/Consumer Insights class, I have to do a whole project for a certain demographic. I was assigned females in Gen X (born late 60s - mid 70s). Unfortunately, no one I know in that demographic grew up in the States, since I am a first generation born American, which would skew my data since lifestyle and value sets might be different from someone who did grow up here. If anyone is willing to talk to me on AIM or Skype or via e-mail or on the phone or at a Starbucks type place, please please please let me know. i've asked my friends and none of them have come through and my project is due on two weeks. You can e-mail me or comment this post (tranmelody@gmail.com). Thank you so much in advanced! Melody speed_leaving, posting in sew_hip @ :
![]() High-waisted wiggle skirt I made for myself. It's thick jersey and quite simple, two darts in the front, 4 in the back. Do you lovely folks have any tips on picking fabric that you're sure will have minimal bobbling? I particularly have this problem with jerseys which sometimes bobble just from light handling, even before the first wash! I don't know much about fabric properties so what should I look out for? {x-posted to craftgrrl} anomie666, posting in b0st0n @ : Concert this Sunday @ the Burren You can hear some of his music on his myspace page. What would you ask them about? How about if you knew they were confined to North America that whole time? boyzici @ :

What's your favorite kind of cake? Do you like lots of decorations, like sprinkles and frosting designs, or just something simple? Bonus points for pics! see_kret_nono, posting in ask_me_anything @ : gift for 12 yr old boy? It's my mom's friend's son. I'm in charge of getting the gift because my Mom is undergoing chemotheraphy and can't leave the house for the next few days. (and I need the gift by Friday) His mom barely talks about him, so we don't know what he does/likes/etc. (ok. lemme rephrase: His mom cares too much abt herself and too little abt him, so he's almost never mentioned in conversations) The budget is about $80. Money's not allowed as a gift. And his dad won't let him have stuff like ipods, psps (you get the idea...) I think this kid is really sad, and I do feel sorry his parents are such assholes (i do have my reasons for calling them that). I would like to get him something nice. But am really at a loss here... =( ETA: Outings with his friends are a no-no as his Dad is most prob not going to let him go. And his mom has no idea what he likes. WTF. |
